A 27-year-old man has been apprehended and charged in connection with the tragic death of Joseph McGready, a 47-year-old resident of Glasgow. Mr McGready was found seriously injured at a residence in Braid Square around 00.05 BST on Saturday, September 30, 2023.

Despite being rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, McGready succumbed to his injuries on Monday, October 2, 2023. The 47-year-old woman, previously arrested and charged with attempted murder, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on the same day.

The 27-year-old man is scheduled to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, October 4, as the investigation continues. Detective Inspector Sandy MacKinnon expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with Joseph’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”

Ongoing inquiries involve a dedicated team of officers collecting CCTV footage from the vicinity and conducting door-to-door interviews. Detective Inspector MacKinnon emphasised the importance of information from the public, urging anyone with relevant details to come forward.
