A new development has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of 16-year-old Kennie Carter, who was fatally stabbed on Thirlmere Avenue in Stretford on January 22, 2022. On Monday, November 20, 2023, another individual appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court in connection with the case. The 16-year-old boy, whose name cannot be disclosed due to legal reasons, is the latest addition to the group of individuals charged in late October 2023 in relation to the investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola McCulloch, leading the investigation as part of GMP’s Major Incident Team, expressed the continued support for Kennie’s family from specially trained officers. McCulloch emphasised that the investigation would persist until justice is served and some form of closure is achieved for Kennie’s loved ones.
McCulloch also reiterated the importance of gathering any additional information or relevant footage related to Kennie’s death. She encouraged anyone with knowledge of the incident or possessing mobile, CCTV, or dash-cam footage to come forward and contact the police in confidence. McCulloch emphasised that it is not too late to provide information and stated that more evidence is believed to be available.
