Tiger Tiger Nightmare: Four Women Poisoned After Bartender Mix-Up
Caustic Soda Served Instead of Salt
London’s famed Tiger Tiger nightclub became the scene of a shocking health scare when four women were rushed to hospital after their tequila shots came with a terrifying twist. A bungling bartender served caustic soda—a deadly cleaning chemical—instead of salt on December 7, 2022.
Burns and Vomiting After Deadly Drink Mix-Up
The drama started when the bartender, out of salt, grabbed a container from storage—only it was caustic soda. The doomed women, unaware of the deadly switch, licked the chemical-laden drink garnish and immediately suffered severe mouth burns and intense vomiting.
The bartender himself even suffered burns after tasting the powder to check it. Emergency services were called, and the toxic container was found at the bar.
£120,000 Fine for Tiger Tiger Owners
Westminster City Council’s health and safety team launched a prosecution against Tiger Tiger’s parent company, A3D2 Limited. During a court hearing, they admitted to four health and safety breaches linked to exposing customers to dangerous chemicals.
The club was slapped with a hefty £120,000 fine—the watchdog sending a clear message about gross negligence in handling toxic substances.
Council Warns Businesses to Prioritise Safety
Deputy Leader Councillor Aicha Less slammed the club’s blatant safety failures, saying: “Neglecting basic safety around toxic chemicals can have devastating consequences. We hope this fine serves as a stark warning to all businesses.”
Westminster’s Health and Safety Team vowed to continue enforcing strict safety protocols and training to prevent such shocking incidents in the future.
