Eric Tamakloe, 30, has avoided a prison sentence after being found guilty of outraging public decency for masturbating on a London bus in 2018. The incident took place on the 543 bus, which runs from Deptford to Westminster, on June 25, 2018.
Tamakloe, who now resides in Omagh, Northern Ireland, appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 3 for sentencing, having previously pleaded guilty to the offence.
The court sentenced him to four months in prison, but this sentence has been suspended for one year, meaning he will avoid immediate jail time. He was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
This sentencing follows Tamakloe’s earlier admission to the incident, in which he was seen openly masturbating on the public bus. His actions were reported to authorities, leading to legal proceedings.
The suspended sentence means that while Tamakloe has avoided prison for now, any further offences within the next 12 months could result in him serving the four-month jail term.
