Wiltshire Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Salisbury Assault

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported assault that occurred on The Downs, off Bishopdown Road, Salisbury, shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday, 23 September.

According to reports, a man approached a woman from behind, threatened her, and then pushed her to the ground, leaving her with minor injuries. The suspect is described as a white male with stubble, wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up. He is believed to have fled the scene through bushes in the direction of Bishopdown Road.

Inspector Tina Osborn, leading the investigation, said:
We are investigating reports of an assault on a woman in the Bishopdown Road area. We are taking this report very seriously, and my officers were in the area immediately after we were alerted to carry out searches.”

Osborn added that there will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues, and she encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
“If you have any information that could help with our enquiries, please stop one of the officers, or you can contact us through our website or by calling the control room,” she said.
