Dylan Alfie Cullen Jailed for Nearly a Decade Over Child Rape and Abuse

Dylan Alfie Cullen, 19, from Kingston-upon-Thames, was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison, plus an extra year on licence, at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday, 23 February.

Guilty Plea to Horrific Crimes

Cullen admitted guilt back in October to one count of raping a child under 13, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of encouraging a child to engage in sexual activity. All offences relate to a single young victim known to him.

Months of Abuse Uncovered

The abuse took place over several months from September 2020 to March 2022. Police were alerted by the girl’s family on 20 March 2022, leading to Cullen’s arrest. Despite declining to answer questions during police interviews, he was charged on 22 March and later pleaded guilty.

Detective Praises Victim’s Courage

Detective Constable Annabel Leslie-Miller said: “This has been an extremely challenging investigation but the successful outcome has only been possible thanks to the strength the girl and her family have shown throughout this process.”

“I hope now that Cullen has been convicted and sentenced, they can begin to move on with their lives.”

“I also hope it encourages anyone who has been the victim of sexual abuse to come forward and speak to police; we have specially trained officers who can support you and investigate what has happened.”
