Shop Bash Shock: Man Hit Over Head with Basket in Southampton Co-op
Police want to track down two men after a 43-year-old shopper was attacked in a Southampton store on Monday night. The victim was struck on the head with a basket during a heated argument at the Co-op on Commercial Road, around 9.20pm on October 10.
Basket Attack Leaves Victim Injured
The flying basket caused a nasty cut and bruising to the man’s head. Cops have now released CCTV images of the two suspects involved, urging the public to come forward.
Who Are These Men?
- Suspect One: White male, 18-25 years, 5ft 8ins, chubby build, curly ginger hair. He wore a black baseball cap and all-black clothes.
- Suspect Two: Mixed race man, around 27, 5ft 5ins, slim build, short brown hair with stubble. He carried a square black bag and wore a blue hoodie.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Police Staff Investigator Tracy Dang said: “We know there were several customers in the store at the time. We need them to get in touch as soon as possible to help with our enquiries.”
