The family of Layla Allen, a 13-year-old girl who tragically died following a fire in Prescot, has issued a heartfelt tribute. Layla passed away after a blaze broke out on Kingsway at around 11:42 pm on Wednesday, April 2.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, Layla could not be saved. A joint investigation with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. The family is being supported by specially trained officers.
Family Tribute
In a statement released today, Layla’s family described her as a “shining light” in the lives of everyone who knew her:
Layla was a lovely, bubbly girl who was always smiling. It’s heartbreaking to think that she’s gone.”
The community remains in mourning as they come to terms with the tragic loss. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
