Van Goes Up in Flames Outside King’s Cross – Panic and Chaos Unfold!
A van was utterly destroyed in a fiery blaze right outside King’s Cross Station this morning, sparking road closures and a major emergency response.
Blaze Breaks Out Near St Pancras
The fire erupted at around 10:17am on Midland Road, just steps from the entrance to St Pancras International. The London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene after getting eight emergency calls from worried commuters.
Two fire engines and about ten firefighters from Kentish Town fire station arrived swiftly. A dramatic video recorded before 10:30am shows thick black smoke and roaring flames engulfing the vehicle as shocked passersby looked on.
Traffic Chaos as Nearby Roads Shut
The blaze was under control by 11:01am but not before Pancras Road was shut both ways between Euston Road and Goods Way. Bus routes 46 and 214 faced temporary diversions, causing disruption across the area.
Thankfully, despite the fire happening near one of London’s busiest hubs, all train services at King’s Cross and St Pancras remained unaffected.
No Injuries, Full Investigation Underway
“We were called to one van alight outside St Pancras train station on Midland Road. The van was completely destroyed by the blaze,” said a Fire Brigade spokesperson.
Miraculously, no injuries were reported. Firefighters confirmed no other vehicles or buildings were damaged. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation.
