A Glasgow barber has been slammed with a 10-year jail sentence after raping two women and sharing vile footage of them on social media. Anas Almarjeh, 27, appeared at Glasgow High Court where Judge Lady Hood condemned his complete lack of remorse.
Brutal Attacks Exposed
Almarjeh was found guilty last October of two counts of rape and abusive behaviour, despite denying the charges. His nightmare started in late 2019 in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, where he raped his first victim while she slept. The second victim suffered repeated assaults and relentless abuse for three years.
Twisted Control and Humiliation
The court revealed Almarjeh recorded explicit images of one victim and shared them with another man. He terrorised his second victim with aggressive control—locking her out, stealing money and bank cards, dictating who she could talk to and what she could eat or drink. In a sick twist, he filmed her emotional breakdowns and posted the videos online.
Long Road to Justice
The attacks occurred across Glasgow’s southside and Barrhead. Almarjeh was placed on the sex offenders register for life. He is slapped with indefinite non-harassment orders banning any contact with his victims.
Judge Lady Hood said: “You have taken no responsibility for your crimes and shown no insight into the harm you caused.”
