A major cannabis grower has been sentenced to nearly two years behind bars after cops busted a huge stash at his Broadstairs home.
33 Cannabis Plants Found in Ramsgate Road Home
Giedrius Sadeckas, 47, was caught after Kent Police raided his property on Ramsgate Road in the early hours of Sunday, 6 March 2022. Officers discovered a large-scale grow operation in an upstairs bedroom, seizing 33 cannabis plants weighing almost 4kg. The haul is worth an estimated £25,000 on the streets.
Sadeckas Gets 22 Months for Drug Production
The Broadstairs man pleaded guilty to being involved in producing a controlled drug. He was sentenced to 22 months in prison at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday, 31 July 2025.
Kent Police Crackdown Continues
Detective Constable Alice McCarthy of Kent Police said:
“The cultivation of cannabis on this scale is not a victimless crime. It is often linked to exploitation, antisocial behaviour, and organised criminal networks. We will continue to take proactive steps to dismantle these kinds of operations and bring those responsible to justice.”
The bust came after community intelligence tipped off police, part of Kent’s ongoing fight against drug crime and harm in Thanet and the wider area.
