Since his diagnosis in January 2016, Tommy has been stuck in hospital. His parents, firefighter dad Nigel Simpson, 48, and mum Maxine Francis, 45, are desperate to find a lifesaving stem cell donor for their son.
Mixed Heritage Makes Finding Donor Tough
Tommy’s mixed heritage means he needs a very rare stem cell match. Matches are inherited, so finding a perfect unrelated donor is a huge challenge — but it’s his only hope.
