Forty Firefighters Battle Blaze at Lee on the Solent Shop

Forty firefighters have been scrambled to tackle a raging fire at a shop on the High Street in Lee on the Solent. Crews from Gosport, Fareham, Southsea, Botley, and Portchester are battling the blaze around the clock.

High Street One-Way System Shut Down

Police have closed the one-way system to traffic as fire crews work tirelessly on the scene. Despite using hose reels, jets, and a specialist aerial ladder platform, the fire has spread into the adjacent multi-storey building.

Firefighters Locked In for Hours

The alarm was raised just after 1am on Tuesday. Firefighters have been inside the property for several hours and are expected to remain battling the flames for some time.

No Injuries But Smoke Lingers

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Thankfully, no-one has been injured. Neighbours in the area may wake up with smoke still in the air. Residents are being asked to keep windows closed to avoid smoke inhalation.”

Firefighters continue working to secure the scene. Authorities warn the High Street closure could last for hours. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
