Woman Dies After High-Speed Crash Involving Bentley in Barnet
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by reckless driving following a horrific crash in Barnet.
Luxury Bentley Flees Scene After Crash
At 10.12pm on Colney Hatch Lane, emergency crews found a badly damaged Vauxhall Astra and a luxury Bentley Continental sports car. Police believe two men were in the Bentley, which sped off before officers arrived.
Victim Succumbs to Injuries
One of the Astra’s passengers, critically injured in the collision, was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away three days later on August 23. The victim’s family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Investigation Ongoing, Police Appeal for Witnesses
Police arrested the 28-year-old suspect on Monday. He has been released on bail and is due to appear in court late next month.
“My thoughts are with the girl’s family as they come to terms with this devastating news,” said Detective Inspector Ian Watson of the Met’s Road and Transport Policing Command. “We will do everything we can to support them during this difficult time.”
“Our investigation into how the collision happened is ongoing. I urge anyone with information about what happened to come forward if they haven’t already.”
