Teen Banned After Booze-Fuelled Drive Just Weeks After Passing Test
Harvey Teale, 18, was slapped with a driving ban after being caught drink driving barely three weeks after passing his test. The Larkhill teenager pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates Court on November 28. He was spotted stumbling into his Vauxhall Corsa at around 1.30am on September 28.
Eyewitnesses Sound Alarm as Teen Drives Drunk
Witnesses flagged police when Teale showed clear signs of being drunk before driving off towards Southampton Road. Cops quickly found the car and noted his dangerous, erratic driving. He failed a roadside breath test and was well over the legal alcohol limit.
Police Issue Christmas Drink-Drive Warning
PC Aaron Pedliham blasted the reckless behaviour: “Teale had only held a driving licence for three weeks before being caught over the drink drive limit. His driving was far below acceptable standards and put lives at risk.” “Driving under the influence is one of the fatal five offences responsible for serious injuries and deaths on our roads.” “With Christmas parties in full swing, please plan ahead and don’t drink and drive.”
Drink Driving Costs Teen Dearly
Teale was handed a driving ban, fined £120, ordered to pay £85 towards CPS costs, plus a £48 surcharge. This tough penalty serves as a stark warning: drink driving can wreck more than just your night.
