A violent thug from Faversham has been locked up after terrorising a woman and driving her to fear for her life.
Brutal Abuse and Relentless Control
Aaron Nugent, 45, spent months abusing and controlling his victim between June and November 2025. He dictated where she could go and who she could speak to, stalking her constantly and turning up uninvited to places she planned to visit. His violence escalated when he smashed a brick through her window and broke into her home after she refused him entry.
Horrific Two-Hour Attack
On one chilling night, a drunk Nugent launched a two-hour assault. He punched and slapped her repeatedly, grabbed her by the neck leaving bruises, and threatened to kill her.
Four Years Behind Bars for Nugent
Police arrested Nugent on 28 November 2025. Facing charges including non-fatal strangulation, controlling and coercive behaviour, assault, threats to kill, and criminal damage, he pleaded guilty. On 18 February 2026, Maidstone Crown Court sentenced him to four years in prison.
“Nugent is an appalling individual whose violent behaviour put the victim in considerable fear. I am pleased he has been taken off the street and is no longer a threat to women,” said Police Constable Sonita Cox.
