A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital after an unknown substance was hurled at him at Crawley railway station late Saturday night, British Transport Police have confirmed.

Officers and forensic teams combed the scene into the early hours, desperate for clues. A British Transport Police spokesperson pleaded for onlookers to come forward.

“Officers were called to Crawley railway station just after 11.20pm last night (March 7) to reports of a substance being thrown at a man in his thirties. The man was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment. Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses who might have seen this incident or may have information.”
