Soldier Ryan Rudd Vanishes After Night Out – Police Launch Urgent Hunt

A month on and the mystery deepens as North Yorkshire Police step up their search for missing soldier Ryan Rudd. The 28-year-old failed to return to barracks after a night out, sparking a desperate search.

Last Seen Early Hours of February 15

Ryan was out partying with mates in the town centre but vanished in the early hours of Sunday, 15 February 2026. He wasn’t reported missing until over two weeks later on 1 March. His final confirmed sighting was just before 3am, walking past the Old Flour Factory towards New Millgate.

Ryan’s description:

  • White male
  • 5ft 8in tall, slim build
  • Dark brown hair
  • Wearing black T-shirt, blue hoodie, black trousers

Full-Scale Search in Progress

Police are pulling out all the stops. They’ve analysed CCTV, knocked on doors, and sent in specialist teams. Drones and marine units are meticulously combing tough terrain and waterways, including the nearby River Ouse.

Inspector Ciaran Conlon issued a chilling warning: “We must accept the possibility that Ryan has entered the River Ouse.”

Anyone with information is urged to call 101, and report urgent sightings to 999 immediately.

Heartbroken Family Pleads for Answers

Ryan’s parents, Kerstin and Ken, shared a fresh photo and said: “As a family, we are devastated and struggling to put into words how we feel. We would ask anyone who has even the smallest piece of information that could help bring Ryan home to please contact the police. We are desperate to have him back.”

The community and police remain hopeful, but the clock is ticking. Can you help solve the mystery and bring Ryan home?
