Brutal Stabbing Leaves Man in Hospital

Two men, Alex Steventon, 46, and Connor Challinor, 29, have been charged with attempting to murder a man in his 30s. The victim was stabbed multiple times in the head, face, and body during a violent assault on Edward Street in carlisle/">Carlisle. Cumbria Police were called to the scene in the early hours of Sunday. The injured man was rushed to the hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Suspects Remanded to Carlisle Crown Court

Steventon and Challinor appeared in court but were not asked to enter a plea. Both were remanded in custody and are due to appear again at Carlisle Crown Court on 1 May. The case is being handled by the Crown Court due to its serious nature.

More Arrests Made in the Aftermath

  • A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
  • Two women, aged 30s and 40s, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but have been released on police bail.
Steventon and Challinor, both from Carlisle, confirmed their identities in court. Steventon wore a dark padded jacket while Challinor appeared in a black jumper, flanked by security staff.
