Kyle Bevan, a convicted child killer serving life at maximum-security HMP Wakefield, was stabbed 25 times in a deadly assault inside his prison cell last November. Leeds Crown Court heard that fellow inmates Lee Newell, Mark Fellows, and David Taylor followed Bevan into his cell, attacking him over four and a half minutes before leaving him to bleed out.
Graphic Prison Assault
Prosecutors revealed Bevan suffered at least 30 injuries, including slashed major blood vessels and heart wounds, with one injury severe enough to cut into bone. The attack left him fatally wounded and struggling for life inside the cell.
Inmate Conspiracy
The three defendants entered Bevan’s cell in quick succession after he arrived. CCTV footage showed them exiting afterwards, appearing calm and satisfied, suggesting a premeditated assault on the convicted murderer.
Legal Proceedings Underway
Jason Pitter KC told the court the entire attack lasted four minutes and 39 seconds, painting a chilling picture of the murderer’s brutal efficiency. The trial will examine the inmates’ motives and involvement in the killing.
