Three men have been charged with multiple offences following an investigation into an alleged attempted aggravated burglary at a home in Folkestone.

Kent Police launched an investigation after receiving reports that a group of men attempted to force their way into a residential property in Folkestone town centre at around 5pm on 17 July.

Police said one of the men was allegedly armed with a weapon during the incident.

Detectives carried out extensive CCTV enquiries to trace the suspects’ movements before and after the alleged attempted break-in.

A public appeal was issued on 13 August containing CCTV images of three suspects, and information subsequently provided by members of the public helped investigators identify three people of interest.

Officers located and arrested three suspects at a property in Dover on Tuesday, 18 August.

During the investigation, police also recovered suspected crack cocaine and heroin, drug paraphernalia, a substantial quantity of cash, a knife and several mobile phones.

The three men were remanded in custody and charged on Wednesday, 19 August.

They are:

  • Dylan Tawanyasha Malikebo, 18, a Zimbabwean national, of Dover Road, Folkestone.
  • Jayden Petros, 20, a Zimbabwean national, of Dover Road, Folkestone.
  • Sulayman Jammeh, 25, a Gambian national, of Rosedale Road, Margate.

Between them, the defendants face multiple charges including conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

All three appeared before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 20 August.

They are due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 21 September 2026.

Proceedings are active.
