Man Brutally Attacked and Robbed in NW2 – Police Hunt Suspect
Just after 3.40am on Monday, January 24, a 47-year-old man suffered a vicious assault on Walm Lane, near Station Parade, NW2. The victim was walking home when a thug demanded money.
Shocking Unprovoked Attack
The victim told the suspect he had no change and tried to carry on. But the attacker followed, shouting abuse. Minutes later, the suspect pushed him, demanded his wallet, and then knocked him to the ground.
While the victim lay helpless, the assailant shook him violently, causing a head injury before snatching the wallet and fleeing the scene.
Police Release CCTV Footage of Suspect
Detectives from the North West Area Basic Command Unit are investigating and have released CCTV images of the man they want to trace. Detective Constable Dervish said:
“This was a completely unprovoked assault on a man who was making his way home from a local shop. The suspect shook him whilst he was lying on the pavement, causing him to bang his head. It is fortunate that his injuries were not more serious.”
He added: “I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image to come forward and speak with us.”
