Tragic Crash Claims Life of Staffordshire Firefighter Alex Taylor
A 31-year-old Staffordshire firefighter has died in a horror road crash in Newhaven. Off-duty hero Alex Taylor, from Penkridge, was riding his Suzuki GSXR motorcycle when disaster struck on the A515 towards Buxton.
Deadly Collision on the A515
The crash happened at 11:55am on Tuesday, March 5. Alex collided with a Skoda Octavia and a Nissan Navara. Despite emergency efforts, he sadly died at the scene from serious injuries.
Staffordshire Fire Service Mourns Fallen Colleague
Rob Barber, Deputy Chief Fire Officer for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), paid tribute:
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our firefighter Alex Taylor and we offer our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.
“Alex joined the Service in 2010, serving at Penkridge, Leek, Hanley, and most recently Tamworth. This devastating news hits us all hard, and we are supporting his family, friends, and colleagues during this terrible time.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Derbyshire Police are investigating the fatal collision. They urge anyone who was near the scene or has dashcam footage, especially of a blue Suzuki GSXR 600 and a Honda CBR 600 riding together before the crash, to come forward.
