Four Treated After Blazing House Fire in Birmingham
Four people were assessed by ambulance crews following a serious fire in Birmingham just after midnight. The blaze broke out around 12.15am on Shepherds Green Road, Gravelly Hill.
Firefighters Battle Thick Smoke
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) rushed to the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed firefighters were tackling a heavy smoke-filled house fire using breathing apparatus on arrival.
Four Men Caught in the Blaze
Four men were inside the property when the fire started. Two, aged 52 and 43, suffered from smoke inhalation. They were treated on-site with oxygen and nebulisers before being taken to Good Hope Hospital for further checks.
Carbon Monoxide Levels Safe, Others Discharged
The other two men, believed to be 31 and 66, were checked but needed no further treatment and were discharged. HART tested all four for carbon monoxide – and thankfully, their levels were normal.
