A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a brutal rape in Grimsby’s Wybers Wood and Willows area. The terrifying attack happened at around 10am on Sunday, 21 September, when a woman was walking through the wooded Willows.

Woman Attacked in Quiet Woodland

Humberside Police revealed the victim was targeted by a man believed to be known to her. The incident was first reported anonymously but officers have now identified the victim as the investigation intensifies.

Police Hunt Crucial Witnesses

Detective Inspector Gemma Walker, leading the investigation, said: “We are at a critical stage and appealing to five key witnesses who may have vital information.”

  • A man and woman walking a dog in the area
  • A woman seen on Mayfair Drive West who helped the victim
  • A couple in a red car on Great Coates Road who helped and dropped the victim near Dale View Street

DI Walker added: “We thank these good Samaritans and urge them to come forward. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial.”

Dashcam and CCTV Footage Urgently Sought

Police have carried out door-to-door enquiries and taken witness statements. They want anyone in the area at the time, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage, to get in touch immediately.
