More Human Remains Found in Salford Murder Probe

Detectives hunting a grisly killer have uncovered more human remains at two fresh spots in Salford. The shocking discoveries have forced cops to widen their search to four new areas, as they race to solve the mystery of a man found chopped up and wrapped in plastic.

Torso Found in April Sparks Massive Investigation

The chilling case began on April 4 when a passerby stumbled upon a man’s torso wrapped in clear plastic at Kersal Dale Wetlands. The victim, believed to be in his 60s, has not been publicly named, but police have informed his family of the tragic news.

Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes revealed the victim was connected to two men now in custody, who are believed to have lived with him. The probe has expanded across Salford and Greater Manchester with four additional crime scenes identified, intensifying the hunt for answers.

New Remains Found at Blackleach Reservoir and Linneyshaw Woods

Following the initial grim find, officers discovered more body parts at Blackleach Reservoir and Linneyshaw Colliery Wood. These latest findings add a dark twist to what’s already a complex investigation. The original remains included the lower back, buttocks, and thigh, suggesting the man met a violent end days before being found.

Two Arrested Following Sweeping CCTV Review

On April 25, two Salford men aged 42 and 68 were arrested in connection with the case after police painstakingly reviewed hours of CCTV footage. One suspect was nabbed during a dramatic bus operation on Eccles Old Road, while the other was picked up from a local address.

A 20-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of murder has since been released on bail as inquiries continue.

Police Plea for Witnesses Amid Ongoing Search

More than 100 officers, including specialist dog units, have scoured the area over 12 days searching for clues. Authorities urge anyone who was near Kersal Dale Wetlands on the day the torso was found, especially dog walkers between 6am and 6pm, to come forward with any information.

The community remains shaken as detectives push to crack this chilling crime.
