Tragedy on Birmingham Roads: Woman Dies, Six Hurt in Early Morning Crash
A woman has died and six others were hospitalised after a serious smash in Birmingham just after 1.45am yesterday.
Ambulance Rushes to Highgate Road Scene
West Midlands Ambulance Service responded swiftly to the crash at the junction of Highgate Road and Woodfield Road. Five ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT doctor, and a critical care paramedic were dispatched. The first team arrived within seven minutes of the 1.49am call.
Two Cars Collide – One Rolls Over
On arrival, crews found two vehicles involved. The female driver of the first car was in critical condition. Despite emergency efforts and advanced life support, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male passenger in the same car suffered potentially serious injuries and was rushed to Heartlands Hospital. Two other passengers—a man and a woman—received treatment for less severe injuries and were taken to Sandwell District Hospital.
Second Car Driver Cut Free, Passengers Hurt
The second car had flipped onto its roof. The male driver was trapped and had to be freed with help from fire crews. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Two women passengers in the overturned car were treated for minor and non-serious injuries and both were sent to Sandwell District Hospital for further care.
