Man Hospitalised After Mysterious Attack in East Grinstead

Detectives from Sussex Police are hunting for witnesses after a 66-year-old man suffered serious head injuries in Heathcote Drive, East Grinstead, during the early hours of Wednesday, January 25.

The victim was found by a passerby shortly after arriving in East Grinstead by train from 1. Emergency services were called at around 1.15am, and he remains in hospital receiving treatment.

Police Appeal for CCTV and Dash Cam Footage

Detective Inspector Dan McCarthy said, “We’re working hard to find out how this man got these injuries. Multiple lines of inquiry are being pursued.”

He urged local residents and businesses between the train station and Heathcote Drive to check any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage from the early hours of January 25. “We especially want to hear from anyone driving through the area at the time,” McCarthy added.
