Masked Raiders Smash Tesco Express in Crawley – Flee Empty-Handed

Police are hunting witnesses after daring burglars smashed their way into a Crawley convenience store late Saturday night.

At 11.15pm on June 8, two men wearing gloves, caps, and face coverings smashed the front door of Tesco Express in Dobbins Place, Crawley. They only spent a few minutes inside before fleeing empty-handed in what police believe was a Jeep or similar vehicle.

Second Theft Moments Later Leads to Arrests

Just moments after the break-in, two males entered the same store and stole bottles of alcohol. Thanks to a swift police response, two men aged 17 and 18, and a 15-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of burglary. After questioning, they were released under investigation.

Police Urge Locals to Speak Up

Detective Constable Gillian Sadler said: “The store is in a residential area, so we hope locals will come forward with any info about suspicious activity that night. If you can help, please contact us online or call 101 quoting serial 1446 of 08/06.”
