A tragic smash near Tadcaster has claimed the life of a teenage girl. The deadly collision happened just after 12:28pm on Monday, 1 December 2025, at the crossroads of Toulston Lane and Rudgate, North Yorkshire Police confirmed.
Crash Details: Minibus vs Car
A white Mercedes Sprinter minibus carrying nine teens aged 16 to 18 was heading towards Sherburn. It was struck by a light-coloured Hyundai i10 pulling onto Toulston Lane from Rudgate. The teenage girl died instantly at the scene.
Casualties and Arrest Made
- Another teenage girl was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
- The other passengers and the minibus driver suffered minor injuries and received hospital care.
- The Hyundai driver, a 40-year-old woman, has been arrested as police probe the crash.
