A 70-year-old man has died after a helicopter crash in Bentley, Doncaster, on Thursday, 30 October.

Helicopter Crashes in Doncaster Field

The chopper went down at 10.14am on Ings Road, reportedly crashing into a nearby field. Emergency teams flooded the scene for a rapid response.

Despite desperate efforts, the elderly man was pronounced dead at the site. His family has been informed and is being supported by police.

Minor Injuries to Others Onboard

  • The 41-year-old pilot suffered minor injuries.
  • A 58-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, both passengers, also sustained minor wounds.

Police and AAIB Launch Probe

South Yorkshire Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) are now investigating the crash.

“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died in this tragic incident,” said Detective Inspector Matt Bolger.

“We remain on site, working closely with emergency services and AAIB. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has footage is urged to come forward immediately.”
