Devon Biker Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Weymouth Smash
A serious collision involving two motorcycles rocked the Veasta roundabout on the A354 Dorchester Road at around 4.15pm on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
The rider of a blue Yamaha, a man in his 50s from Seaton, Devon, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for urgent treatment. His family has been notified.
Second Rider Unharmed, Road Closures Cause Chaos
The second rider, a man in his 40s from Honiton, was on a black Honda motorcycle and escaped uninjured. Emergency services shut the road between the Manor and Jurassic roundabouts to treat the injured man and carry out a full investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to officers to please contact Dorset Police,” said Police Sergeant Sarah Jones from the traffic unit. “I’m also keen to hear from motorists travelling in the area at the time to check their dashcams for any footage.”
“Thank you to all motorists for their patience during the closures, which were vital to allow emergency services to work safely and for investigators to examine the scene.”
