Brutal Murderer Lukasz Stachura Jailed for Life Over Killing of Kamil Leszczynski

Lukasz Stachura, 41, shocked friends when he coldly admitted to killing 33-year-old Kamil Leszczynski after they asked why Kamil had vanished. But the horrifying truth was already known to the police.

Gruesome Details of the Murder Revealed

On June 27, 2021, Stachura murdered Kamil and dumped his body near a farm track off Turvey Road, between Carlton and Turvey villages. The victim’s hands had been bound tightly with phone cables, his mouth gagged with a makeshift gag.

Luton Crown Court heard that Kamil endured severe physical abuse, with bruises all over his body consistent with repeated punching and kicking. The court was told Stachura likely struck him with a weapon as well.

Overwhelming Evidence Leads to Life Sentence

Despite mountains of evidence, Stachura maintained his innocence during the three-week trial, even claiming his car had been stolen. However, CCTV showed him driving his red Vauxhall Astra around Wellingborough on the day Kamil disappeared.

  • At 8pm, the car carried a driver and passenger matching the descriptions of Stachura and the victim.
  • Between 9pm and 11pm, Stachura’s phone signals showed he was close to where Kamil’s body was found.
  • After the murder, the car was spotted heading back towards Wellingborough, then travelling through Northamptonshire until it broke down the next morning.

Detectives found Kamil’s DNA on the car’s passenger door handle and fibres from the car seats on his trousers. Stachura’s DNA was discovered on the gag used to suffocate Kamil, which blocked his airway and likely caused death.

Expert botanists even traced a rare leaf stuck on Stachura’s car to the location where Kamil’s body was concealed. The painstaking investigation earned praise from Her Honour Judge Lynn Tayton KC.

Justice Served and Tributes Paid

Stachura was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 23 years behind bars before parole consideration.

“Stachura has shown no remorse and concocted bizarre lies,” said Detective Inspector Dale Mepstead. “We are glad a dangerous man is off the streets. This sentence sends a clear message that violent crime will not be tolerated in Bedfordshire.”

The victim’s family described Kamil as “cheerful and affectionate.”

“Kamil was a wonderful brother, caring and supportive. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.”
