Shock in Yeovil: Man Tries to Snatch Boy on Walk to School

Police have released an E-fit after a terrifying incident in Yeovil where a man attempted to grab an eight-year-old boy walking to school with his mother.

Attempted Abduction on Cedar Grove

The boy was walking alongside his mum, who was pushing another child in a buggy, when a car pulled up beside them on Cedar Grove at around 8.30 a.m. on March 6.

The man tried to pull the youngster away, but the mother fought back fiercely, screaming to stop him.

Suspect Flees in ‘Dirty White’ Car

The attacker then sped off in a dirty white car with tinted rear windows, heading towards Preston Road.

A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Police described the suspect as:

  • Aged 30 to 40
  • About 5ft 8ins tall, medium build with broad shoulders
  • Olive-brown skin, dark hair styled in a quiff, and a beard
