Chichester Man Caught in Sick Child Sex Sting
Robin Hains, 46, from Lavant near Chichester, has pleaded guilty to arranging to commit a sexual act on a child and three counts related to indecent images. The damning confession came after a bust by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) and Hampshire Constabulary.
Sting Operation Nabs Hains in Southampton
Hains was arrested on March 8 in Shirley, Southampton, after travelling from Bognor Regis. He believed he was meeting a 13-year-old boy but was instead confronted by police officers.
The twisted predator had bragged about his plans to another man on a messaging platform earlier that day.
Shocking details reveal that Hains was working in the urology department of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust at the time of his arrest.
Justice on the Horizon
Originally pleading not guilty in June, Hains flipped his plea to guilty at Southampton Crown Court on Monday (14/11). He now faces sentencing on January 13.
“Thankfully no children were ever in danger during this investigation,” said Detective Constable Colin Haynes of SEROCU. “Hains clearly intended to meet and abuse a child but was stopped by our officers in a joint operation with Hampshire Constabulary.”
Detective Haynes added, “We work to safeguard vulnerable children and bring the worst offenders to justice.”
