Nitrous Oxide Bust in Castle Gate: Man Caught with 29 Cannisters
Neighbourhood officers stopped a grey Mercedes-Benz in Castle Gate at 8.15pm on Sunday, February 26. The vehicle was under watch after reports it was linked to drug dealing.
Massive Haul Found on Driver and Property
Officers asked the man behind the wheel, aged 20, to step out. A search uncovered 29 large nitrous oxide cannisters, balloons, £80 cash, and a small amount of cannabis. He was promptly arrested for possession with intent to supply psychoactive substances and class B drugs.
While in custody, the police also searched a property connected to the suspect. There, they found a big stash of cannabis, drug paraphernalia, and a large safe.
Officer Issues Health Warning and Crime Reminder
Sergeant Paul Whitehead from Nottingham City Centre’s neighbourhood policing team said: “Inhaling nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, isn’t just harmless fun – it can seriously risk your health.
“Selling these cannisters is a crime and anyone caught should expect prosecution.
“We’ve arrested a suspect and our investigations are ongoing.”
