Kensington Council Worker Charged Over Grenfell Fire Fraud

A council worker accused of swindling money meant for Grenfell Tower victims has been charged with multiple fraud offences.

Jenny McDonagh Faces Serious Allegations

Jenny McDonagh, 39, from Abbey Wood, was charged on Thursday, 30 August, with two counts of fraud by abuse of position, one count of employee theft, and one count of money laundering.

She allegedly pocketed funds intended for those affected by the Grenfell tragedy, despite having no connection as a survivor or bereaved family member.

Arrest and Court Appearance

  • Initially arrested on 1 August
  • Re-arrested on 29 August
  • Set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court later on 30 August
