Two Men Arrested Over Terrorism Suspicions in London
Police swooped on two men suspected of terror links in separate operations on Monday.
East London Man Nabbed at Dawn
A 56-year-old man from East London was arrested at around 5:40am on Monday, 17 July. Officers detained him on suspicion of being involved with a banned organisation, under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Canadian National Caught at Heathrow
Hours later, at 12:35pm, a 28-year-old Canadian was arrested upon arriving at Heathrow Airport from Canada. He faces the same terror-related charges as the East London man.
Detention Extended as Police Probe Continues
Both suspects are held at a West London police station under strict terrorism laws. Westminster Magistrates’ Court has extended their detention until Monday, 24 July, while investigations ramp up.
Meanwhile, cops are searching two East London addresses linked to the suspects as the probe intensifies.
