This Sunday, 13th November, Eastbourne & Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell joined dignitaries at the Butts Brow Memorial to honour brave USAAF aircrew from World War II.
Remembering the Fallen of “Ruth-less”
The group paid their respects to the crew of the B24-D Liberator bomber nicknamed “Ruth-less.” The plane was severely damaged by enemy fire and crashed in low cloud on 2 February 1944, killing all 10 airmen on board.
Never Forgotten
The solemn ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifice made by these young men during the Battle of Britain and beyond, ensuring their courage lives on in Eastbourne’s history.
