Woman Left Fighting for Life in Brutal Midhurst Attack
Police rushed to a Midhurst Close home just before 3.30pm on May 1, 2022, after reports of a savage attack. Officers found a woman with life-threatening injuries and she was quickly whisked to hospital by ambulance, where she remains in serious condition.
Man Charged with Attempted Murder
39-year-old Abdul-Malik Neal, also from Midhurst Close in Crawley, was arrested at the scene. He has now been charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody. Neal is set to appear at Lewes Crown Court on May 31.
Police Reassure Public After Isolated Incident
Detective Inspector Kelly Lewis said: “This was a violent attack that left a woman fighting for her life. We are pleased to have a suspect remanded in custody and I would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident, with no wider threat to the community.”
“We will continue to react swiftly and proactively to any reports of violence and will now look ahead to the forthcoming judicial process.”
