Gas Mask Man Stabs Victim in Botched Tesco Raid on Kilburn High Road
A man wearing a gas mask launched a violent attempted raid outside Tesco on Kilburn High Road, stabbing a man in his 40s with a screwdriver during the chaos.
Suspect Nabbed at the Scene
Police swooped at 10:07am on Tuesday, 15 July, after reports of a stabbing and disturbance involving a sharp object. They arrested 23-year-old Leandro Bruce, who has no fixed address, right at the scene.
- Charged with grievous bodily harm without intent
- Possession of a sharp pointed article in public
- Common assault
Bruce was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 16 July.
Victim Taken to Hospital
The London Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew, paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer to the scene.
“We treated a man for a head injury and took him to a local hospital as a priority,” said an LAS spokesperson. “Another patient with a minor hand injury declined further treatment.”
Investigation Continues
The dramatic incident began right outside the Tesco store, where the suspect was spotted wearing a gas mask. Police are combing through CCTV footage and probing the motive, including any possible links to previous crimes.
“The investigation remains ongoing,” said a Met Police spokesperson. “We are continuing to gather evidence and ask any witnesses to come forward.”
