Prince Andrew Suffers Humiliating Royal Snub from King Charles

King Charles III has dealt a severe blow to Prince Andrew, axing two of his most prestigious knighthoods and wiping them from the record books. The Duke of York’s royal standing has taken another massive hit in a relentless fall from grace.

Knighthoods Cancelled: Order of the Garter and Royal Victorian Order

The monarch has stripped Andrew of his title as Knight Companion of the Order of the Garter, a prestigious honour he’s held since 2006. His name will be removed from the Order’s official register – a crushing humiliation for the embattled royal.

But Charles didn’t stop there. He also revoked Andrew’s 2011 Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, further erasing his royal credentials. These moves follow the earlier removal of Andrew’s remaining royal titles, officially reducing him to a commoner.

Military Ranks Axed but Falklands Medal Stays

The Government, through Defence Secretary John Healey, confirmed that Andrew’s honorary vice admiral rank has been scrapped. Yet, Buckingham Palace made clear the King will not take away Andrew’s Falklands War campaign medal.

Healey stated that the Ministry of Defence defers to the royal family on matters of military decorations. Andrew will keep his Falklands medal along with other service awards from his 22-year naval career, which began in 1981.

Fallout from Sexual Abuse Scandal Continues

In January 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth II removed Andrew’s military roles and charity patronages following a legal settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual abuse. Andrew denies the allegations, and the settlement was not an admission of guilt.

“This decision came after a petition signed by over 150 veterans demanding Andrew’s military ties be removed,”

Among the roles Andrew lost was Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, which has since been passed to Queen Camilla.

These latest cuts underline the royal family’s ongoing efforts to distance itself from Andrew amid continuing controversy.
