Londoner Locked Up for Portsmouth Drug Bust
Jacob Monerville, 23, from Claremont Square, Islington, has been slammed with a three-year jail term for drug offences in Portsmouth. The sentence, handed down on Friday 20 April, includes possession with intent to supply class A drugs – heroin, crack cocaine and cocaine.
Monerville also picked up two extra months for escaping lawful custody, but that runs alongside his main sentence.
Drug Dealer Nabbed by Portsmouth Police
Officers from the drugs-related harm team caught Monerville at an address on Binstead Road, Portsmouth, on 20 February.
Chief Inspector Jason Kenny said: “Our policing teams continue to work hard to target drug dealers and disrupt drug dealing in Portsmouth. I would like to reassure the local community that we will do everything in power to get drug dealers off our streets and in front of the courts.”
Spotting Drug Activity: What to Watch For
- A sudden spike in visitors to a property, with people staying only briefly.
- Quick handoffs between small groups near a house or flat.
- Residents frequently leaving and returning to a property multiple times during the day.
- People loitering around and constantly using mobile phones.
- Unfamiliar or flashy cars parked outside, driven by unlikely individuals.
