Beaten, Strangled, and Sent Down: Abuser Caged After Shocking Attack
A violent thug who beat and strangled his ex-partner has been locked up. Michael Jamson, 30, brazenly ignored a court order banning him from seeing the woman before unleashing a brutal three-day assault last August.
Attack Turns Deadly on Eastwood Street
On August 29, things took a terrifying turn at a Wood Street address in Eastwood. Jamson strangled the woman until she couldn’t breathe. Luckily, a passing driver spotted the fight and stepped in, rescuing the victim and calling the police.
Justice Served at Nottingham Crown Court
- Jamson was arrested that very day and refused to answer questions.
- He later pleaded guilty to assault, coercive control, battery, intentional strangulation, and breaching a restraining order.
- The judge sentenced him to two and a half years behind bars.
Police Praise Brave Good Samaritan
“This was an appalling and prolonged display of violence from a controlling and abusive bully,” said Detective Constable Melissa Brown of Nottinghamshire Police. “There are no excuses for this kind of behaviour. We urge anyone who experiences or witnesses it to call us immediately. “I’m pleased Jamson has been held accountable, and I want to thank the brave member of the public who stopped to help the victim. Without her, Jamson might still be free and the victim in even more danger.”
Violence against women is taken seriously. Police promised a thorough hunt for justice in every case.
