Rapist Abdifatah Mohamud Jailed for 11 Years After Kings Cross Attacks
Manipulative Offender Brought to Justice
Abdifatah Mohamud, 35, from Islington, has been handed an 11-year prison sentence after being found guilty of raping a woman twice in the toilets at Kings Cross railway station. The British Transport Police (BTP) launched a thorough investigation that led to his conviction at Inner London Crown Court.
Double Attack at Kings Cross
The court heard that on 12 October 2022, Mohamud manipulated the victim by pretending to know her and using a fake nickname to gain her trust at a local park. Hours later, at around 10pm, he coerced her into the station toilets where he committed the first rape.
Mohamud then deceived the victim into thinking he meant no harm by taking her for food. But he forced her back into the toilets, drugged her, and raped her a second time before fleeing when she became distressed and vocal.
Victim Found and Justice Served
The victim was discovered by a cleaner who quickly notified security. British Transport Police responded swiftly, leading to Mohamud’s arrest and prosecution. He was also slapped with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
“Mohamud was a calculating offender who used coercion and manipulation. The victim endured a terrifying ordeal, and we hope this conviction helps her start recovering,” said Detective Constable Adrienne Curzon, lead investigator.
