Youth Workshop Hit by Wild Ram Raid in Dead of Night
In the early hours of May 11th, the Pitstop Youth Workshop in Bexhill suffered a brutal ram raid. Thieves smashed their way in using a stolen electric vehicle. A van is also believed to have been involved in the smash-and-grab, according to the charity behind the workshop.
£25,000 Worth of Gear Stolen in Devastating Strike
The raid left the workshop gutted. The offenders made off with two motorcycles and a haul of valuable equipment and tools. The combined damage and theft are expected to cost the Pit-Stop Youth Trust over £25,000—a blow far beyond what insurance will cover.
Charity Devastated but Police Recover Stolen Bike
A spokesperson for the Pit-Stop Youth Trust described the hit as “heartbreaking” given their mission to support local youth. In a silver lining, Sussex Police, acting on a tip-off from the public, have already recovered one of the stolen motorcycles.
“It’s so heartbreaking, as the sole aim of our 123, please contact Rother Police.”
The charity has thanked the community for their help and remains hopeful more stolen items will be found. Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
