Glass Bottle Attack on Teen Sparks Police Probe in Southampton

A shocking attack on a 13-year-old boy has rocked Southampton. The incident happened around 5pm on Sunday, 20 November, at a bus stop in Kendal Avenue, near the junction with Cuckmere Lane.

Boy Injured as Glass Bottle Smashes Bus Window

The youngster was sitting on a parked bus when a group of youths hurled a glass bottle at the window beside him. The window shattered, sending shards of glass into the boy’s face, causing painful injuries.

Teen Arrested as Police Hunt Witnesses

A 13-year-old boy from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage worth under £5,000. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police Appeal for Footage and Witnesses

Sgt Loraine Stockham of Southampton West Neighbourhoods Policing Team said: “We believe the victim and the group were known to each other and that this was an isolated incident. We know there were a number of witnesses so I would encourage them to contact us with any information or mobile phone footage they might have. Similarly, if anyone has dash cam, CCTV or ring doorbell footage, please get in touch.”
