Manhunt Underway After Cyclist Left for Dead in Portsmouth Hit-and-Run
Hampshire police have launched a full-scale manhunt after a cyclist was left seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Portsmouth. The shocking collision happened at the junction of New Road East and New Road at around 6:55pm on Sunday, April 11.
Cyclist Struck by Black Skoda Octavia, Driver Flees Scene
Witnesses reported the victim was riding his bike when a black Skoda Octavia – possibly a taxi or private hire vehicle – slammed into him before speeding off. Neighbours were left stunned by the hit-and-run.
Emergency services rushed to the scene. Paramedics treated the cyclist for a head injury before rushing him to Queen Alexandra Hospital for urgent care.
Police Hunting Driver, Appeal to Witnesses and CCTV Owners
Hampshire Roads Policing officers are combing the area for clues and have closed the road for an ongoing collision investigation. CCTV footage capturing the crash is being reviewed.
