Knife Suspect Sparks Police Drama in Kent – Officer Badly Hurt
Blade Threat Sends Armed Police into Action
Chaos erupted in Istead Rise when reports of a man armed with a knife triggered a swift response from Kent Police. At around 7.46am on Wednesday 20 August, officers rushed to Worcester Close after concerns about the suspect carrying a bladed weapon.
Armed police confronted the man outside a property. According to reports, the suspect acted threateningly, forcing a constable to fire a taser. During the struggle, the officer suffered a serious cut to his hand and needed hospital treatment.
Cannabis Found Amid the Chaos
Following the arrest, officers searched a nearby address and uncovered a stash of cannabis, adding to the suspect’s legal woes.
Man Charged and Locked Up
29-year-old Imman Singh, of Worcester Close, was charged on Thursday with:
- Causing grievous bodily harm with intent
- Possessing an offensive weapon used to threaten
- Possession of cannabis
The British national has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Friday 22 August.
Police Give Update
Kent Police confirmed the injured officer is on the mend after hospital treatment. Detectives assured locals the incident was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
