Electrician Jailed After Chasing Burglars – Thugs Now Sue Him!

Armed Raiders Escape Jail, Homeowner Behind Bars

An electrician has been slammed with a 22-month jail sentence after chasing two burglars off the road — but shockingly, the crooks walked free and are now suing him for a whopping £1 million.

Adam White, 34, gave chase in his Mercedes 4×4 after the masked thugs, armed with bolt cutters and a crowbar, targeted his home in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. The burglars, Taylor Benford and Ryan Paul, aged 25, fled on a stolen motorcycle and crashed, suffering serious injuries including broken bones and brain bleeding.

Raiders Get Suspended Sentences, White Faces Prison

Despite their violent break-in attempt, both burglars received suspended sentences and community service – no jail time. Meanwhile, Adam was locked up for “endangering others” due to his reckless driving during the chase.

At court, Adam was heard nervously asking, “Am I in trouble? I won’t be sent to jail for this, am I?” The judge disagreed, citing the danger caused by his high-speed pursuit.

Family Shattered, Legal Costs Mount Up

Adam’s wife Lindsay revealed the staggering fallout: “We’ve spent £50,000 on legal fees, lost our home, and Adam lost his job.” The couple’s plight worsened when Lindsay had to undergo an abortion, citing the financial strain without Adam’s income.

She blasted the burglars for now suing their insurance over injuries sustained in the crash. “They do it because they can. Maybe they don’t want to work and prefer to live off theft.”

Community and Police Speak Out

A local witness told police, “I’ve been broken into seven times in a year. I have sympathy for the man defending his home. If I were at home with my family and burglars showed up with crowbars, I wouldn’t hesitate.”

Adam himself admitted, “I didn’t mean to hit or knock them. That car is my pride and joy. I had no desire to harm them.”

Police Statement: Bedfordshire Police said the case highlights the dangers of taking the law into your own hands. “Our officers work hard to bring criminals to justice. The best action when witnessing a crime is to call 999 immediately.”

The heated case was featured in Channel 4’s 24 Hours In Police Custody, sparking debate over justice, punishment, and victim rights.
